Artist’s Statement
Using metal as well as found objects, I explore form through the process of fabrication. Working intuitively, my design process involves sketching in the material rather than on paper. My compositions emerge during fabrication, a process which lends itself to deconstruct, rearrange and combine forms.
As an artist with a background in jewelry scale metalsmithing as well as furniture scale steel work, I am always interested in how small and simple components can be combined to form sleek, sculptural forms. Throughout my explorations, I strive to place my jewelry and sculptures ambiguously between the natural and industrial worlds.
